Happy October, and let it be a cooler, calmer one than two years ago. Luckily my Dad rebuilt and moved back onto his property this year. Some are in the same boat, some are stuck in rentals or sharing small spaces and some have moved away. Most of us are still paying a price for everything we’ve endured. Look into the documentary “Last October” at www.srcity.org/3167/October-2017-Wildfires. Salutes to the survivors. Also, to those who were less lucky. Unfortunately before the Tubbs Fire stopped, we lost my mother, Heather Granahan. Two years later - still grieving, but she’s alive in our hearts. She loved making Halloween costumes and decorating every year.
Join the Bodega Volunteer Fire Department’s most delicious fundraiser of the year! Saturday, October 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. is the Polenta and Beef Stew Dinner. Located at McCaughey Hall, downtown Bodega. Full meal of polenta, beef stew, cheese, salad and roll. Dinners can be to-go as well. Tickets at the door, $10/children, $15/adults. Soda, water, beer and wine sold separately. Hope to see some of you there!
