Happy April or is it? Last year we had floods, fires, evacuations and extended power outages. Now Covid-19. I was hoping this was a bad April Fool’s joke. Unfortunately, not. Thankfully as a Community we are always united. Although there are several events that have cancelled due to this virus, Russian River Sisters monthly Bingo, Monte Rio’s Monday Supper Club, Chamber of Commerce, Vine and Dine. The Russian River Senior Center will be closed for an undetermined period of time. They will be checking messages and providing services as possible. Please call if you need them for anything. 707-823-1640
Here is a message from the Chamber: Greetings, Russian River Chamber Members, Community Partners and Guests -
We are closely monitoring the current Coronavirus situation and want you to know that we are doing everything possible to ensure that our operations continue to work smoothly and that our staff and visitors feel safe and comfortable.
To that end, we are working closely within the guidelines being provided by regional and national entities and reviewing the sites of World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control to be apprised of the latest updates.
Above all, it is our overarching goal to help minimize any risks to our community and guests. We will do our very best to keep you informed and updated as details present themselves.
Please keep enjoying our delightful community businesses so that we can make sure that owners and employees maintain the ability to thrive. We have rebounded from floods, fires and economic setbacks and will continue to support one another through yet another dramatic occurrence.
Never Forget: WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER! Let’s stay informed, connected and support one another.
Please be safe - Karin Moss
Just to let you know everyone appreciates your understanding during this difficult time.
When in doubt if you’re thinking about going to any events this month, best thing to do is check the events website or call to see if it is still going on. We are a resilient Community and we know that this too shall pass. Let’s all be aware of what we need to do to keep our Community safe. Cover your cough/sneeze and wash your hands. Keep showing kindness and help out where you can without putting yourself in jeopardy. I know I’m preaching to the choir so enough of that from me.
Now, let’s see what’s rollin on the River (when we are off quarantine) in April. Just a reminder about the First Friday of the month Art Walks. Perfect time to look at our local artist work, tasting rooms and restaurants. It’s a perfect way to support them for sharing their beautiful art, tastings and food. Great way to get your exercise for the day.
Congratulation to Pat’s! Pat’s International will be celebrating their 80th Anniversary. To find out more information go to their website at ilovepats.com and see what festivities they have planned.
Here’s a fun community event. Let’s help Friends, Residents of Guerneville (FROG) celebrate “Just one bag” on Earth Day which is April 22. It’s really something most of us do already. What they are asking us to do is use a bag and go around your neighborhood and pick up trash and put it in your garbage receptacle on April 22nd. What a great idea to help contribute to our Earth. (Shhhhhh by the way, my Birthday is on Earth Day and I will be turning 60). What better present for me to give myself by helping on Earth Day.
Happy Easter to EVERYONE! We might still be waiting out this virus but spend time with your family and friends if you can. Wow I just had a thought, If we have to be 6’ apart still at Easter, my table will be a mile long. All kidding aside, enjoy your holiday and if you are not cooking check out the local restaurants. Prepare yourself if they are still doing take out only.
No matter what you choose to do, I will always keep you informed on what’s rollin on the river
I leave you with a quote,
