We can never say it enough “Thanks YOU” to the countless essential workers of Windsor! Seriously thank you to essential workers including Doctors, Nurses, Environmental Service works, Firefighters, Paramedics, Police, Mail/UPS and FedEx workers, Grocery and Retail. Right now thanks to Zoom, a dedicated group of volunteers is meeting to plan Windsor’s El Dia de los Muertos events this coming October. This year’s workshops and finale fiesta all depend on the status of the Covid 19 outbreak and Sonoma County Health Officer Sundari Mase’s orders in place at the time. Another group that is relieved about the recent changes in Covid 19 health restrictions is The Windsor Garden Club. The group raised funds over the years to begin replacing wooden beds in the Town Green Community Garden.

The class of 2020 has endured much, so in an effort to honor and celebrate each and every senior, we are crafting a “visual celebration,” composed of banners and signs for the Class of 2020! The banners will have each of the seniors’ names emblazoned on them and be representative of each of our high school programs. Our “celebrate the Class of 2020” banners will be displayed throughout Windsor’s Town Green, in May. We admire, congratulate, celebrate and wish each senior the very brightest future possible. In closing I have super exciting news! I have super exciting news: Windsor Certified Farmers Market opens on Sunday, May 3rd, 10-1 pm.

But now the garden needs some help. The recycled wood originally used to create the garden beds 11 years ago is now disintegrating. All 72 beds will need to be dug up, and the old wood carted off and replaced with new wood and gopher wire.

I want to give a huge shout out to the people who had the foresight and courage to make the hard decision to make all of us leave our homes. It was their love for Windsor that saved our town. What many people did not realize, rightfully so since they were busy packing up their belongings and heading out of town, is that there were a bunch of people who remained behind to fight
